Holland Career Test
Map your interests to the six career themes (RIASEC) and discover the directions you'll genuinely enjoy — and do well in.
How it works
Answer 42 paired either/or questions. Each pair nudges your preference toward one of six interest themes: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, Conventional. We'll show your dominant type, plus a three-letter “Holland Code” made of your top three.
This test has 42 questions in total — and it is completely free.
What you can get
Every result is explained in plain language — what it looks like day to day, at work and in relationships.
RealisticDoer
You trust what's built over what's merely said.
You're practical and hardworking, happiest working with concrete objects, tools, and machines. Rather than debate ideas, you'd rather roll up your sleeves and build something. Mechanical, natural, physical, or technical work gives you a real sense of stability and accomplishment.
InvestigativeExplorer
You keep asking “why” — and love finding the answer.
You're rational and curious, loving to observe, analyze, and solve problems. You enjoy independent thinking and dislike constant interruption. Research, technology, medicine, and data analysis — fields that reward deep focus — are your natural stage.
ArtisticCreator
You reshape the world with color, words, and imagination.
You're sensitive and expressive, allergic to being boxed in by rules. You crave freedom and beauty, and love expressing yourself through creation. Design, writing, music, and film — creative fields — release your energy best.
SocialHelper
Your greatest satisfaction is seeing others thrive because of you.
You're warm and empathetic, glad to help and teach others. You recharge through interaction and value cooperation and care. Education, healthcare, counseling, and social work — people-facing roles — let you be yourself.
EnterprisingLeader
When you see an opportunity, you can't help but make it real.
You're outgoing and confident, happiest influencing others, taking charge, and chasing results. You're good at persuading, negotiating, and organizing — suited to business, management, and sales where drive matters.
ConventionalSteward
You bring order to chaos, and the world runs smoothly because of it.
You're careful and dependable, liking clear, orderly, predictable work. You excel at data, process, and detail — the quiet backbone every organization relies on. Administration, finance, and operations — fields that reward accuracy — suit you well.
How to read your result
- Answer from habit, not from the person you’d like to be — your first instinct is usually the honest one.
- Read the whole description before you decide. The parts that sting a little are often the most useful.
- Treat it as one lens, not a verdict. Use it to start a conversation, not to end one.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Holland Career Test free?
Yes — it’s completely free and there is nothing to sign up for. You can take it as often as you like, and your result appears on screen the moment you finish. No account, no email wall, and no payment in front of your result.
How long does it take?
Shorter than you’d think — 42 quick questions. Most people finish in one short sitting. There are no right or wrong answers, so go with your first instinct rather than second-guessing.
Is it scientifically accurate?
It’s an original, entertainment-grade test inspired by the Holland RIASEC model. It is not a clinical assessment or a diagnosis, and it should not be used for hiring, admissions or medical decisions. Think of your result as a well-organised prompt for reflection — interesting and useful, but not the final word on who you are.
What do I actually get?
You’ll see your interest type — one of six career-interest themes — the moment you finish, explained in plain language. Each result describes what the pattern looks like in daily life, how it shows up at work and in relationships, and one practical suggestion you can act on.
Do I have to answer every question?
Yes — every question carries a little weight in your score, so skipping any of them would tilt the result. Your answers stay in your own browser: everything is calculated locally, and we do not ask for an account or store your responses on a server.
Can I retake it or share my result?
Both. Retake it as often as you want — plenty of people run it twice on different days to see what shifts. You can also share your result with a friend and compare notes; the result page has a ready-made share card.
